How it all started

Dawn Patterson, known for her ability to creative and think outside of what most people believe to be the norm, making her presence know as the creator of all things creative. 

Patterson established the brand, I AM MY CITY, in 2016.

    I AM MY CITY is spirit wear, it is a brand that speaks to everyone who has deep roots in their city as well as passion for the growth of their city. 

"Creativity has always been second nature to me. I love to learn and explore.  My goal is it strive for my perfection with creative ideas, although I know even then it can be improved.

I AM MY CITY another way to show how much people want to be a part of the revitalization of this beautiful city. My goal is to create a brand that expresses the level of effort  so many people have put into making Detroit phenomenal and in hopes to encourage others to join.

I AM, were words that I felt embodied a powerful message and the words behind it would be a clear declaration of your current state. 

Still to this day my father and I pick up trash around Detroit, “people need to see that some of us care,” dad always say.

We take pride in the things that we own so keeping the city clean was no different. I understand no city is perfect.

however, I felt Detroit deserved all positive efforts given and soon I found out that we weren't alone. There are so many people that show their pride in this city by investing their time, generosity and support into Detroit. 

This brand started in Detroit but it’s message will travel and resinate with all..
